What Man Represents

MendiSingsingWhat Man represents is greater than Nature as it appears in all the mechanisms and organisms previous to Man, or less than Man, but that higher dimension of Man is not awakened. Man at the current time is still largely an elemental being in terms of his action, and he is still overwhelmed by lower forces.

Human beings are not yet the principle of change on Earth. Human beings are controlled by great forces like earthquakes, great movements, and sudden changes outside the cycle of their own psyche and interest. Human beings are able to enter creatively into the whole process of possibility, change, and self-transcendence, but they will always tend to be overwhelmed by great forces. The world must be largely ruled, managed, purified, and changed by forces outside Man until Man becomes the master of Earth — not the sole proprietor, the egoic master, but the agent of the more benign movements of Nature. What Man represents is greater than Nature as it appears in all the mechanisms and organisms previous to Man, or less than Man, but that higher dimension of Man is not awakened. Man at the current time is still largely an elemental being in terms of his action, and he is still overwhelmed by lower forces.     – Adi Da Samraj
